AS York Announces New Board Member
The Alzheimer Society of York Region is pleased to announce Raza M. Naqvi MHSc, MD, FRCPC, Geriatric Medicine Specialist, Markham Stouffville Hospital and Assistant Professor, Division of Geriatric Medicine, University of Toronto, has joined the Board of Directors.

Dementia in the days of COVID-19: The B.C. Seniors Advocate’s perspective
People living with dementia in care homes and their care partners are among those who have suffered the most since the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic. British Columbia’s Seniors Advocate Isobel Mackenzie has been a leading voice in sharing the reality of what life has been like for people living in care homes and their care partners since the beginning.

From September 1 – 21, 2021, hikers and climbers from all over the province will be able to explore beautiful British Columbia while raising funds in support of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and showing the thousands of people affected by dementia they are not alone.


Research participants wanted for UBC project with people living with dementia and/or family caregivers
The UBC research project led by Dr. Lillian Hung and Jim Mann, member of the Alzheimer Society of B.C.’s Leadership Group of People Living with Dementia, is looking to develop and evaluate a mobile app to address the urgent need to reduce social isolation in long-term care and hospital settings.
